The BEST ways to wash your clothes in less than 15 minutes when traveling.

Isn’t it just the worst when your traveling and you get a stain on your clothes? When traveling light, having a pile of dirty clothes can limit wardrobe options. Here are some tips and methods to help you wash out clothes in less than 15 mins.

Tip #1: Know your stains! Protein based (e.g blood), Body Soil based (e.g sweat), or All other (e.g food, wine, or pen).
Tip #2: You don’t always NEED detergent! Shampoo works just as well for body soil stains.
Tip #3: Pre-Soaking in cold water can help in the stain removing process.

1. Hand Washing or Spot Cleaning Washing

Tried and true, simply dampening a garment with club soda or water and agitating it (rubbing or creating friction) can remove stains. It can be done in less than 5 minutes. After, rinse and let dry. Adding hand soap may help for body soil stains.

2. Touchless Washbag (**my favorite method**)

This is something that I love for on the go travels. Place soiled clothes in the bag, add water, a soap, and create agitation. This bag is also perfect for soaking and has a washboard inside for scrubbing. When your done washing, you can rinse clothes in the bag again then hang to dry.            (pictured isn’t the actual product I use, the link to the product is to the right)

3.Shower Washing

I have done this in college when I couldn’t be bothered to pay for campus laundry. Take a shower but place a collapsing mixing bowl with your soiled clothes in with you. You can fill bowl with shower water for a pre-soak as you shower. Ultimately your washing the clothes after or before your shower by hand with your favorite shampoo. Rinse clothes and hang to dry.

  1. May I simply say what a relief to discover someone that genuinely understands what theyre talking about on the internet. You actually realize how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people must look at this and understand this side of the story. Its surprising youre not more popular given that you definitely possess the gift.
